Who he was

John Stewart Bell (1928–1990) was a Northern Irish physicist. His 1964 theorem showed that any theory built on “local hidden variables” (the intuitive idea that particles have definite, pre-existing properties that just haven’t been measured yet) makes different, testable predictions than quantum mechanics itself — turning a philosophical debate about the nature of reality into an experimental question.

PBT’s own account of entanglement (correlated aether distortions, per Paper 6) references the real CHSH/Tsirelson bound as the target its mechanism should reproduce, but hasn’t been shown to independently derive it from the aether framework.
