Physics Catalog: Known and Unknown
Physics isn’t one undifferentiated pile of “science says.” Some of it is proven beyond reasonable doubt. Some of it is the working consensus, with real open pieces inside it. Some of it is serious, credentialed, and still genuinely untested. Some of it is speculative work from outside the institutional process — including Pressure-Based Theory, the model this site exists to present. And some of it was seriously proposed once and then directly disproven. Mixing these together, or letting a reader assume they’re all on equal footing, is dishonest — this catalog exists so they aren’t mixed together here.
Six categories, each its own page:
- Proven Systems — direct, repeated, quantitative experimental confirmation. The working core of physics.
- Generally Accepted But Unproven — frameworks the field builds on daily, with specific components not yet directly confirmed.
- Unproven Systems At Large — serious, peer-reviewed, credentialed theories that remain untested.
- Unknowns — real open questions mainstream physics itself admits it hasn’t solved.
- Fringe Ideas — untested, non-peer-reviewed, outside-institutional-process proposals. This is where Pressure-Based Theory belongs, and is presented as such.
- Disproven / Falsified Theories — ideas that were seriously proposed and then directly ruled out, with the actual falsifying evidence, not just an assertion that they’re wrong.
This isn’t PBT’s site pretending to be neutral cover for itself. It’s an attempt to let a reader tell, at a glance, which category any given claim on this site belongs to — including the ones this site’s own author is personally invested in.
